Featured Photographer - Maja Baska

I recently finished a degree in photomedia at Sydney’s College of Fine Arts and have been working as a freelance photographer, shooting social shots, bands and portraits. My artistic practice is based on people and portraiture, I am fascinated by how people react to my presence as a photographer. Particularly how they change themselves to appear in a certain way in front of the lens. I am always trying to challenge people when I photograph them. The images I’ve chosen to show here have a mostly been inspired by film stills. My Dad is a director of photography and I’ve been very inspired by him and how he works. From him I’ve gained a sense of experimentation and a way of looking at the world from all possible angles. Feel free to email me, I’d love to hear from you.
